British Prince William and his wife Kate's whirlwind trip to Southern California ended on Sunday (July 10) after the royal couple boarded a jet headed for home. The Duke and duchess' working vacation included an elegant black-tie dinner with Hollywood royalty to promote emerging British talent. At Saturday's(July 09) gala, Tom Hanks, Nicole Kidman and Barbra Streisand were among the stars who turned out to support the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, of which William is president. Will and Kate's friends, David and Victoria Beckham, welcomed a new baby girl into the world on Sunday (July 10), adding a daughter to the three sons they already have in their growing family. A representative for the family said the girl, whose name was not revealed, was born "happy and healthy" at Los Angeles' Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. She arrived at 7:55 Sunday morning and weighed in at 7 lbs 10 oz (3.46 kg). Congrats are also in order for actress Kate Hudson. The 32-year-old actress and her fiance, singer Matthew Bellamy, welcomed the arrival of baby boy on Saturday (July 09). Hudson and Bellamy got engaged this past April after dating for a year. Big-budget action film "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" won the battle of the box office for the second-straight weekend, generating 140 million in global ticket sales and pushing its worldwide total since its debut to 645 million dollars (USD). The third installment of the popular "Transformers" films was the No. 1 film in the United States and Canada with 47 million in sales. It easily beat two new comedies, "Horrible Bosses" which took in $28 million, and family film "Zookeeper," the weekend's No. 3 movie with $21 million. John Russell, Reuters.
