Defiance in Syria as the government crackdown on the city of Homs continued into the fourth day of Ramadan. Video posted on a social media website purports to show attacks on several areas by President President Bashar al-Assad's forces. Reuters is unable to verify these accounts. In Washington, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said attacks on civilians are escalating. SOUNDBITE: U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton saying: "We've seen the Assad regime continue and intensify its violent assault against its own people this week. Sometimes you lose sight of the incredible tragedy unfolding on the streets by just looking at the numbers which are so numbing, but the shooting death of a one-year-old recently by the Syrian regime's tanks and troops is a very stark example of what is going on." Locals in Hama say tanks have advanced into the city center after heavily shelling the city. At least 45 civilians are believed to have been killed in Hama. Deborah Gembara, Reuters.
