Aug. 30 - Mexican authorities arrest 5 suspected drug gang members in connection with a casino attack, video footage captures the suspects before the attack.
Mexican authorities have arrested five men in connection with the lethal torching of a Monterrey casino last week. The governor of Nuevo Leon said the men had confessed to involvement in the attack and identified themselves as members of the Zetas drug cartel. 52 people died in one of the worst attacks on civilians in the country in years. Security camera footage apparently showing men filling gas cans at a petrol station in Monterrey is said to be the five suspects. The video, released by Nuevo Leon state officials, shows cars moving down a road, believed to be driven by the suspects. Mexico's president sent hundreds of extra troops and police to the city and declared three days of national mourning after the attack. Marie-Claire Fennessy, Reuters
