Former Peruvian President Alberto Fujimori was hospitalised on Thursday, after falling from his prison bed and hitting his head. The 73-year-old was taken to hospital, for stitches on a cut to his ear. His lawmaker son, Kenji Fujimori, said doctors are watching his progress. (SOUNDBITE) (Spanish) KENJI FUJIMORI, SON OF ALBERTO FUJIMORI, SAYING: "He has head trauma. He's going to be under constant observation for three months. My father is old and to avoid any kind of problems he will be evaluated constantly, every two weeks." Fujimori was imprisoned for violation of human rights. Throughout his trial, he maintained his innocence on charges of abuses committed during the 1990s. His family is trying to get him pardoned. (SOUNDBITE) (Spanish) KENJI FUJIMORI, SON OF ALBERTO FUJIMORI, SAYING: "My father is a high-risk patient and that's why he meets the conditions for a humanitarian pardon."
