Nov. 4 - Anti-government protests throughout Syria cast doubt on whether an Arab League plan can end months of bloodshed. Deborah Gembara reports.
After Friday prayers, thousands protested President Bashar Al- Assad across Syria. Witnesses say government forces killed at least eight people and wounded dozens. Videos posted to a social media website -- that can not be independently verified by Reuters -- show protests across Syria.... amid reports that the government has yet to abide by an Arab League plan to end the bloodshed. Witnesses say violence has intensified since Syria accepted the plan under which the Army would leave turbulent cities, political prisoners could walk free and the opposition would take control in the next two weeks. The western city of Homs continues to be a flashpoint for protests with witnesses claiming new casualties from tank and sniper fire. Deborah Gembara, Reuters.
