March 12 - From superman to jellyfish to global warming - kites of all shapes and sizes, some carrying a message, create a colorful scene in Thailand's beach town of Cha-am. Kilmeny Duchardt reports.
In Thailand's resort town of Cha-am, 32 teams of kite flyers from over twenty countries colored the sky with their unique creations. Wind conditions were perfect for the annual festival, as participants guided their kites in the air. While it's not a competition, people were keen to display their craftsmanship and creativity. But U.K. resident Bob Cruikshanks took the opportunity to make a political statement. The three-day festival attracts thousands of tourists to Cha-am. Kilmeny Duchardt, Reuters.
