April 18 - Rebel fighters and activists claim government is violating ceasefire and targeting some cities with heavy shelling. Jessica Gray reports.
Explosions rip through the Syrian city of Homs. Video uploaded to a social media site on Wednesday purportedly shows government forces shelling the rebel bastion, despite a ceasefire. Reuters cannot independently verify the footage. The 7-day old truce, agreed to by President Bashar al-Assad, held in some parts of the country and is being monitored by a handful of U.N. peacekeepers. However, activists and rebels claim cities like Hama, Idlib and Deraa are still under heavy fire and shelling. Jessica Gray, Reuters
