Apr. 20 - The latest celebrity and entertainment headlines including George Clooney to host Obama fundraiser at his home, Bob Marley documentary premieres in Jamaica and trial for killer of Jennifer Hudson's family set to begin. Lindsay Claiborn reports.
President Obama's re-election bid is heading to Hollywood . . . George Clooney's house to be exact. On May 10, Clooney will host a fundraiser for the President and tickets are selling for almost $36,000 a piece. But for those on smaller budgets, don't be discouraged, the Obama campaign is raffling off two tickets for the dinner for supporters who donate as an incentive to kick in money to the campaign. Bob Marley has returned home to Jamaica with the premiere of "Marley," the first authorized film about the life of the reggae star. The film traces Marley's journey from a boy born in a small village in Jamaica to a music superstar who brought reggae and the Rastafari movement to a global audience, it also features interviews with friends and family. Marley died of cancer in 1981 at age 36. The celebrity spotlight will be turning towards a Chicago courtroom on Monday (April 23) when opening arguments begin in the trial of the man accused of killing three of Oscar-winner Jennifer Hudson's family members in 2008. William Balfour is charged with fatally shooting Hudson's mother, and brother and is also accused of kidnapping and killing Hudson's 7 year old nephew. Hudson is expected to be on hand for the court proceedings. Lindsay Claiborn, Reuters.
