Fighting to the finish in Aleppo -- Syria's largest city.
Rebel forces defend their positions in the Salaheddine district.
They vow to turn Aleppo into the quote "grave" of the Syrian President Bashar-al Assad.
(SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) FREE SYRIA ARMY FIGHTER, NAME WITHHELD, SAYING:
"We ask the regime soldiers to see what Bashar has done to our country. He destroyed the country. We ask them to leave their weapons and join us so we can fight this infidel."
Rebel say they will push towards the city center, district by district. They say they can achieve the goal "within days, not weeks".
Rights groups say more than 100 people were killed in Syria on Monday.
Thousands of residents have fled their homes. Streets stand empty.
Thousands have died since the uprising began last march. Many more have been wounded. There is still no end in sight.
