President Obama and Mitt Romney both spent Sunday prepping for Tuesday's crucial town hall-style debate in Hempstead, New York, but Obama took time out to visit a field office in Williamsburg, VA to thank campaign workers. (October 14, 2012).
Here. -- want to call and say thank -- And at the top issues facing the country. Is isn't. Bain Capital and in the Romney's tax returns that is a big bird. It's time we get the greatest country on earth out of work out out of debt and back to work and when you look at 43 million Americans on board. Sixteen trillion in debt doubling gas prices. No coherent energy strategy. It's clear to me that for the Romney's running -- to have the only blueprint. To get us get us out of this let's not we're not gonna have four more years of the same policies it is four more years of the same result. And when you when it comes to this choice that governor McDonnell has pointed out. The choice is so clear and I think the momentum will be slow and not just by the president's performance at the second debate. But by the economic numbers that are coming out that demonstrates that there's been clear progress when we've got. Well the lowest unemployment rate since the president took office and you've got. You've got a huge boosting consumer confidence highest in five years. Highest housing starts in five years lowest foreclosure rate in that amount of time. What you do is is can you bedrock of this campaign into what makes that happen. -- We. Who's going well. Really -- it. The president has an opportunity had an opportunity it was required as of last Friday. To officially designate whether China is the currency manipulated. Let me play what that means by the way when when a country artificially hold down the value of their currencies. It means that the products that they sell to us artificially cheap. And that means that American companies that are making they sell products they go out of business if there Chinese products are so much cheaper than the real costs behind. And head over the past several years the president's failed to call China a currency manipulator he had the occasion on Friday. To come out of that official designation you know they said. We're not gonna make any determination. Until after the election. Let me tell you on day one that my administration and I would label China a currency manipulator we gotta get those jobs back. Get traded parent. Just a few years ago auto industry wasn't a struggle. It was flat line. GM Chrysler on the verge of collapse. Suppliers and distributors were at risk going up. More than a million jobs across the country Rommel and not just auto jobs but. Jobs teachers small business hours and everyone in communities depend on this great Americans. But we refused to throw in the towel -- up. We refused electrical -- I'd bet on American workers and American ingenuity. Three years later that that is paying off a big way.
