What can go from zero to 100 kilometers or 60 miles per hour in just three seconds? The new Lamborghini Aventador. And the luxury automaker's Singapore showroom had the privilege of offering car lovers the first look. The LP700-4 Roadster operates with a 12-cylinder, 700-horsepower engine that takes it to a top speed of 350 kph (217 mph) And chief executive Stephan Winkelmann says he's put it to the test. (SOUNDBITE) Stephan Winkelmann, chief executive, Automobili Lamborghini, saying (English): "Top Speed. When we test the car, we test the car in every condition and also in top speed, so it's quite amazing." The company strategically chose Singapore for its world premiere because of its high concentration of millionaires. (SOUNDBITE) Stephan Winkelmann, chief executive, Automobili Lamborghini, saying (English): "It's, it sounds silly, but it goes hand in hand with markets like the US, China, the UK, the Middle East, so it's not about the amount of people living in one country. It's about the wealth." Global sales have been a challenge for the company, but numbers are steadily improving. (SOUNDBITE) Stephan Winkelmann, chief executive, Automobili Lamborghini, saying (English): "So we have a slowdown in Europe, an increase in the U.S., Southeast Asia is going well, the Middle East is running well, China we don't know." The Roadster will hit showrooms in the late spring to early summer with a list price in the United States of 445,000 U.S. dollars.
