Thousands of mourners stricken with grief and anguish gathered outside the military hospital where Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez died. (SOUNDBITE) (Spanish) CHAVEZ SUPPORTER, CESAR RUIZ, SAYING: "You are not dead. You live in my soul, you live in my soul, brother. Hopefully this will serve for your people to unite." Chavez's 14 year charismatic rule ended Tuesday after undergoing several rounds of chemotherapy and radioactive treatments for pelvic cancer. Chavez was revered by working class and poor Venezuelans for his populist style and outspoken criticism of capitalist nations. The body of 58-year old Chavez will lie in state through Friday when a public funeral will be held with invited guests from across the region. Seven days of mourning will be observed.
