Mar 11 - The day's top showbiz news and headlines including Justin Bieber cancels a concert, the Rolling Stones plan a U.S. tour, and Ellen DeGeneres' talk show is renewed through 2017. Bob Mezan reports.
Justin Bieber has hit another bump in the road of his European tour. The singer has canceled the second of two shows in Portugal due to "unforeseen circumstances." He will still have his scheduled first show on Monday (March 10), but axed Tuesday's show (March 12). The announcement was made by the promoter and not Bieber, leading many to believe that it was canceled due to low ticket sales. In other music news, the Rolling Stones are hitting the road for a North American tour, according to multiple sources. The tour is reportedly set to kick-off on May 2, hitting 18 west coast cities in the U.S., with east coast stops to be added later. There may be wedding bells in the future for Lady Gaga. Various media outlets are quoting her close friend, DJ Lady Starlight, as saying that Gaga is planning a summer wedding to her long-term boyfriend Taylor Kinney. So far, no word from Gaga's camp about the rumor. Finally, good news for Ellen DeGeneres - her daytime talk show has been renewed through the 2016-2017 season. "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" leads the ratings pack in major U.S. markets and is tied in ratings with "Dr. Phil" for the overall most watched U.S. syndicated talk show. It's also broadcast around the world in more than 22 countries.
