Mar. 22 - Beyonce, Sting and One Direction are among the performers who will be hitting the road for summer concert tours. John Russell reports.
Spring is in the air, but summer concerts are just around the corner. No matter what your musical taste is, this summer's lineup has something for everyone. Rapper Jay-Z and singer Justin Timberlake are teaming up for a 12-city summer stadium tour that will include concerts in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Chicago. But don't think Jay-Z's wife Beyonce will be sitting at home waiting for her man to return. The "Single Lady" singer will hit the road in April for her "Mrs. Carter" tour that will take her from Serbia to Brooklyn. Justin Bieber will continue his European tour after a few bumps in the road. The teen was forced to cancel two shows in Portugal in March due to "unforeseen circumstances." Bieber's rumored fall in popularity might be caused by the success of the boy band One Direction. The five heartthrobs will travel the world from April to August. Their entire journey will be filmed for an upcoming 3D documentary film set to be released in August. Speculation about a Rolling Stones tour continues to build as multiple sources report the band will kick off a North American tour on May 2. Veteran acts like Sting, Bruce Springsteen, and Tom Petty all have plans to tour with their classic hits.
