Macklemore & Ryan Lewis lead the pack of nominees for this year's American Music Awards with six nominations. Among the nods, the duo received one for the top prize, Artist of the Year, competing against Bruno Mars, Rihanna, Taylor Swift and Justin Timberlake. The awards will be presented in Los Angeles on November 24. In other music news, Katy Perry has been announced as the first scheduled performer at the MTV Europe Music Awards. The singer will perform her new single "Unconditionally." The awards ceremony will be held in Amsterdam on November 10. Betty White is hitting the skies. The acting legend has recorded an in-flight video for Air New Zealand. The video, which plays at the top of the airline's flights, features White instructing passengers on safety features from a lively retirement resort. Finally, Tom Hanks hit the red carpet in London for the premiere of "Captain Phillips." The actor spoke more about his revelation that he is suffering from Type 2 Diabetes - noting that he was surprised at the amount of interest about it. His film hits theaters around the world in early October.
