Florida Republican Congressman Henry "Trey" Radel pleads guilty to misdemeanor possession of cocaine in Washington, D.C. and is sentenced to one year of probation. He was charged with buying 3.5 grams of cocaine in Washington's Dupont Circle neighborhood on October 29 in the presence of an undercover agent, government sources say. He reportedly apologized to the judge during the sentencing hearing. In an earlier statement, the Tea Party Republican said his "struggles with alcoholism" had led him to make an "extremely irresponsible choice." The Congressman did not respond to reporters' questions about whether he intended to resign.
