As the rain fell from the sky, President Obama was joined by his family to light the National Christmas Tree in Washington. Giving an abbreviated countdown... The event marks Washington's 91st tree lighting ceremony. Aretha Franklin dazzled the crowd with her rendition of "Joy to the World." Young elves twirled on stage as Mariah Carey sang to the crowd about what she really wants for Christmas. Michelle Obama had help reading "A Night Before Christmas." All the while, the Christmas tree glowed with its new color scheme.
