Jan. 30 - President Barack Obama outlines his four-step plan for expanding job opportunities, while visiting a GE plant in Wisconsin. Rough Cut (no reporter narration).
ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) President Obama spoke about the economy at a GE gas engine plant in Waukesha, Wisconsin on Thursday (January 30) and outlined his four-step plan for restoring opportunity; creating new jobs; and training Americans with the skills to fill those jobs. "We're going to review all federal job training programs... And then we're also going to be supporting local ones," the president said. "So while we re-double our efforts to train today's workforce, we've got to make sure we're doing everything we can to expand apprenticeships. And I'm going to call on American companies all across the country, particularly manufacturers, to set up more apprenticeship programs," Obama said.
