Feb. 5 - Amateur video purports to show Syrian rebels targeting government positions around Aleppo as Damascus misses chemical weapons deadline. Deborah Lutterbeck reports.
Rebel soldiers take aim at government troops around the international airport in Aleppo. The video, which can not be independently verified by Reuters, comes amid reports that the government has been targeting Aleppo with barrel bombs. No one is giving up the fight as rebels fire back with what they have. On Wednesday, the government led by Bashar Al-Assad missed a key deadline to hand over chemical weapons. Moscow says its ally Damascus would ship more chemicals soon. But Western diplomats say they saw no indications that further shipments were pending. The conflict in Syria began almost three years ago and has killed more than 130,000 people.
