May. 12 - The star of ''Breaking Bad'' Bryan Cranston and ''Avengers'' actors Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen were out for the premiere of Legendary Pictures' latest blockbuster ''Godzilla''. Francis Maguire reports.
After months of hype the blockbuster "Godzilla" had its European premiere in London on Sunday. The film stars Bryan Cranston, who's best known as "Breaking Bad" anti-hero Walter White. But with "Godzilla" he wanted to do something very different to the part that made him famous. SOUNDBITE (English) Actor, Bryan Cranston, saying: "At first I was thinking if I did another drama after "Breaking Bad" it would be compared to it. They would have that in the reviews, I think. But this genre's so completely different." With their latest big budget film Legendary Pictures gave a British talent a chance to direct his first big budget movie. It's been a fast rise to the top for Gareth Edwards, who won the Sci-Fi London competition in 2008 and followed that up with the low-budget "Monsters" in 2010. SOUNDBITE (English) Director, Gareth Edwards, saying: "As a little kid you grow up going, "Ah yeah, one day I want to make a big movie" and you dream like, "Oh, if you were in Leicester Square". I lived in London and you'd come to these things and you'd look and you'd think, "Ah yeah, one day. One day". I just didn't expect it ever to really happen." The film sees Lieutenant Ford Brody join a task force fighting back against the monsters wreaking havoc on San Francisco. Aaron Taylor-Johnson plays the young Lieutenant, and his wife's played by Elizabeth Olsen. "Godzilla" will be in cinemas from May 15th.
