Hamas says seven gunmen killed by Israeli air strikes in Gaza which Israel launched in retaliation for rocket attacks. Katie Sargent reports.
Hamas says seven of its fighters were killed by Israeli airstrikes on Gaza. Four other people were injured in what would be the deadliest day for Hamas since 2012. Hamas said Monday that most of the strikes targeted the town of Rafah on the Egyptian border though one was aimed at northern Gaza. Israel says it was aiming at what it called terror sites as well as a concealed rocket launcher... and said it was acting in retaliation for rocket attacks on southern Israel which have been increasing since mid-June. Israeli President Shimon Peres on Sunday visited the southern Israeli town of Sderot which has been the frequent target of the rocket attacks. Tensions between Israelis and Palestinians have been inflamed by the abduction and murder of three Israeli youths and the kidnapping and killing of a Palestinian teenager. Six Jewish suspects have been arrested in the connection with the Palestinian's death.
