''Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles'' has whipped the box office into shape, collecting $28.4 million in North American ticket sales this weekend. Jillian Kitchener reports.
Four pizza-loving turtles have emerged from the sewers to fight crime in New York City. And they've stuck around for a second week -- the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" stand tall at the box office again. The film, starring Megan Fox as a reporter and turtle ally, collected $28.4 million in North American ticket sales over the weekend. This action-packed, film may drag you into the theater before you know it. There's no problem with "Guardians of the Galaxy" pulling in $24.7 million over the weekend, and claiming $419 million since it opened August 1st. In this sci-fi superhero film, Chris Pratt's character is forced to join a group of alien bandits, with the fate of the universe in their hands. Nothing's fake about this - "Let's be Cops" placed third this week. Dressed-up as police officers, these friends have become neighborhood sensations and their egos are inflated. It suits a younger audience... but this humorous flick cannot quite touch the charm of the Ninja Turtles.
