The U.S. Navy releases video of jets conducting missions against Islamic militants in Iraq from the deck of the U.S.S. George H.W. Bush. Rough Cut (no reporter narration).
ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) U.S. Navy planes carried out another round of missions in Iraq on Friday (September 19), as part of an international offensive against Islamic militants. President Barack Obama first ordered air strikes last summer to aid refugees surrounded by Islamic fighters on a mountain near Irbil in northern Iraq. After the refugees were able to escape, he ordered the U.S. military to continue missions to aid Iraqi and Kurdish forces battling Islamic State. During the latest mission, F-18 Hornets and EA-6B Prowlers conducted air strikes as well as surveillance and reconnaissance missions in Iraq.
