Amateur video, which can not be independently verified by Reuters, appears to show the aftermath of Syrian regime airstrikes in the town of Morek. Smoke and panic fills the streets as government forces re-take the town. President Bashar al-Assad's forces have intensified air raids on western parts of Syria in the past month as the international community has focused on Islamic State. Rights groups say hundreds of soldiers were killed in nine months of fighting for the town. Close to 200,000 have died in the Syrian conflict -- which began with peaceful protests in 2011.
