The sound of U.S.-led coalition aircraft roar in the skies above Kobani, after an overnight attack is repulsed by Kurdish fighters. Deborah Lutterbeck reports.
Eruptions in Kobani. The Syrian town along the Turkish border is center stage in the fight against Islamic State militants. The relentless sound of warfare as the U.S. says it has conducted four strikes on the town, hitting five vehicles and one occupied building used by the militant group. This comes after Kurdish forces repulsed Islamic State militants trying to seize a border post overnight. Syrian media says Damascus is providing military support to Kurdish forces battling Islamic State -- a move that would mean President Bashar al-Assad and his Western enemies could be backing the same forces against Islamist militants. In Turkey, front row seats to the front line in a fight that rights groups say has killed more than 800 people in the town over the past 40 days. More than half of them are Islamic State fighters.
