The 18.5-foot Douglas Fir arrived from Lehighton, Pennsylvania and was pulled up to the White House North Portica by a horse-drawn carriage. Members of the National Christmas Tree Association have presented the official White House Christmas Tree for display in the Blue Room since 1966. This year's tree was grown by Chris Botek, a second generation Christmas tree farmer who was the 2010 National Christmas Tree contest champion and whose parents were the 2006 contest champions.
