ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) STORY: U.S. President Barack Obama, accompanied by his daughters Sasha and Malia, made an unannounced visit to a well-known Washington, D.C. bookstore on Saturday (November 29) and took in some early holiday shopping. Obama was greeted by clapping customers as he approached the cash register at Politics and Prose, regarded by some as a Washington literary institution. At one point a customer called out to Obama "hope you can close Guantanamo," in reference to the U.S. detention center at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. The President replied "we're working on it" and then asked if there were "any other issues?" Like many Americans, the Obamas are getting ready for the holidays. The the annual Official White House Christmas Tree was delivered to the Obamas on Friday (November 28), heralding the start of the holiday season at the White House.
