It used to be 15 years of fame a long time ago. Well you know, the world's moving fast, so this time it's only 15 seconds of fame." Workers carefully unloaded the giant seven-foot-tall numbers. Once they were set up, people were invited to join in for the countdown. NATS: 3, 2, 1 SOUNDBITE: TIM TOMPKINS, PRESIDENT OF THE TIMES SQUARE ALLIANCE, SAYING: "It's also really the start of our annual New Year's Eve ritual where people begin this process of looking back over last year, and God knows, for the world, for the country and for the city, it's been quite a year, saying, what do we want to leave behind? How do we want to start anew? Either for ourselves or for our country in 2015." In a few days, the numbers will be placed alongside the 2, 0 awaiting the New Year's Eve countdown when they will light up at midnight.
