Around 200 Africans try to cross the fence separating Morocco from a Spanish enclave, in the third mass attempt this week by Africans trying to make their way into Europe. Mana Rabiee reports.
This is where Morocco borders the Spanish enclave of Melilla. It's where some 200 people from sub-Saharan Africa staged a coordinated attempt to cross the triple barrier fence that would put them, effectively, into Europe. It's the third mass attempt this week to make the crossing, as police try to round up the migrants. This man seems unsure about what to do next on that razor wire fence … other migrants signal him to come down. Police are patrolling the border but the migrants are coordinating their attempts to overwhelm the guards. The numbers of people trying to cross the border has swelled in recent months … in part because of increased naval patrolling that's made an ocean crossing into Europe even more difficult.
