The day's top showbiz news and headlines including Johnny Depp and Amber Heard hit the red carpet, Joel and Ethan Coen to head the Cannes Film Festival jury, and Justin Bieber will be roasted by Comedy Central. Bob Mezan reports.
Johnny Depp turned out in London for the U.K. premiere of "Mortdecai." After posing for photos, Depp was joined by his fiancee Amber Heard - one of the few times the couple have been seen together at a public event. Depp confirmed his engagement to the actress in December. "Mortdecai" will hit theaters on Friday (January 23). Joel and Ethan Coen will preside over this year's Cannes Film Festival. The filmmaker brothers will be the festival's first co-presidents of the jury, who will select the winning films during the 68th edition of the fest that runs from May 13-25. The Coen brothers are no strangers to Cannes - having won best film for their 1991 movie "Barton Fink" and best director for "Fargo" among other honors. Justin Bieber will be roasted by U.S. cable channel Comedy Central. The pop star will be the target of jokes from a slew of comics, set to air on March 7. Bieber joins the likes of Roseanne Barr, Donald Trump, and Joan Rivers - who have all been roasted on Comedy Central TV specials. Hollywood is prepping for the 21st annual Screen Actors Guild awards. A 10-foot, 200 pound replica of the SAG statue was placed near the famed Hollywood sign on Tuesday (January 20) to promote the awards, which will be handed out in a live telecast on Sunday (January 25).
