ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) STORY: U.S. Senator John McCain called on the U.S. and NATO to provide "lethal" assistance to Ukraine. The one-time presidential candidate and Republican senator from Arizona said Russian actions in Ukraine presents the "gravest threat to European security in decades." U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said on Thursday that Washington, while seeking a diplomatic solution in Ukraine, would not ignore Russian tanks and fighters crossing the border. Speaking after talks in Kiev with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, Kerry demanded an immediate commitment by Moscow to a ceasefire agreement for eastern Ukraine that it, Kiev and the pro-Russian rebels signed in Minsk last September. He also said, U.S. President Barack Obama will decide soon whether to provide Ukraine with lethal weapons.
