The Holy land is covered in snow as tourists and residents alike enjoy winter in the West Bank, while Syrian refugees in Lebanon do what they can to keep warm. Deborah Lutterbeck reports.
After a stormy night, Jerusalem wakes up to a thin blanket of snow. Holy sites across the city are dusted in white. The chill did not deter some Orthodox Jewish worshipers who went to pray at the Western Wall. Similar scenes in the West bank where tourists are out enjoying the winter weather..as are the locals. But there is little joy in the winter blast for Syrian refugees in Lebanon. They do what they can to clear snow from tents. ..and huddle inside to keep warm (SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) SYRIAN REFUGEE, ABU ALI, SAYING: "All night we have been removing snow from the tents so they don't collapse". There are more than a million Syrian refugees in Lebanon. Many are snowed in across the country with more snow in the forecast.
