Countdown to the first trading day of the new year. The Hong Kong Stock Exchange reopened Monday after a long Lunar New Year weekend break. A drum performance got the day off to a rousing start. But after a champagne toast, it was back to business. The market was slightly lower at midday with oil companies and casino operators leading the declines on the first day of the Year of the Goat.
