Summer might be right around the corner, but a pair of grizzly bears at San Diego Zoo get to experience winter under the sun. Rough cut - no reporter narration
ROUGH CUT - NO REPORTER NARRATION Grizzly bears Montana and Scout got a rare treat in sunny San Diego over the weekend - a chance to play in the snow. Thanks to a generous donation from a benefactor of the San Diego Zoo, the "bear pair" got the chance to experience winter, even for just a couple of days. That's because 15 tons of snow were hauled in for them to frolic in. The brother bears quickly warmed up to the experience by wrestling, running and digging in the white fluffy snow, an experience that is more than just fun. Apparently, being in the snow is a good sensory exercise that helps re-trigger natural instincts in the bears. Although the gift was intended for the 8-year old grizzlies, there was more than enough to go around.
