Chilean President Michelle Bachelet to reshuffle entire cabinet as popularity falls. Julie Noce reports.
Chilean President Michelle Bachelet announced a surprise cabinet reshuffle Wednesday night during an interview with a local TV station. (SOUNDBITE) (Spanish) CHILEAN PRESIDENT, MICHELLE BACHELET, SAYING: "A few hours ago I requested the resignation of all the ministers, and I will take 72 hours to decide who will stay and who will go... They (the ministers) have been notified they will have to present themselves." The decision comes as Bachelet's popularity falls to an all-time low. The center-left president has been hit with a scandal over illicit campaign financing. Bachelet herself has been tainted by questions over a bank loan and land deal that benefited her daughter-in-law. During the interview Bachelet said she would have reshuffled her cabinet earlier but has been concerned with environmental matters, like the erupting Calbuco volcano
