ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) President Obama paid tribute to the men and women who served during World War II calling them 'the generation that literally saved the world.' In an address from the White House on Friday, Obama marked the 70th anniversary of the allied victory over Nazi Germany. "We will be forever grateful for what these remarkable men and women did, for the selfless grace they showed in one of our darkest hours," said Obama. VE (Victory in Europe) Day celebrates the day allied forces accepted the unconditional surrender of Nazi Germany, marking the end of World War II in Europe.
