U.S. special operations forces have carried out a raid inside Syria, killing a man identified as a senior leader of Islamic State. The White House made the announcement Saturday morning, saying President Barack Obama ordered the raid that killed the man identified as Abu Sayyaf. He helped direct the group's oil, gas and financial operations, according to the Pentagon and the White House. U.S. officials also said Abu Sayyaf's wife was captured in the raid and was in military detention in Iraq.
