More unrest in the Chilean capital Santiago Thursday night as student demonstrations turn violent.
Protesters marched through the streets holding banners and chanting.
Soon after clashes erupted.
Masked demonstrators hurled rocks and molotov cocktails at police who responded with water cannons.
Local media say one police officer was injured in the clashes and taken to a hospital.
The demonstrators want an overhaul of the education system, primarily in the form of free tuition for all students.
President Michelle Bachelet will introduce a bill a bill later this year that will cover 60 percent of students.
