Saudi jets hit Houthi-held areas throughout Yemen overnight, including one of the country's main sports complexes. Diane Hodges reports.
The football stadium in the capital city of Sanaa was destroyed when it was hit on four separate occasions overnight. The bombing was part of what a Houthi television station said was 25 separate raids by a Saudi-led coalition on areas held by the Houthis in Yemen. The strikes also hit an air base near Sanaa airport and a military installation aligned with the Houthis overlooking the presidential palace. The strikes began in late March as part of a campaign to restore Yemeni President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi to power. The United Nations says nearly 2,000 people have been killed and more than 8,000 wounded since the conflict began.
