White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest says he hasn't seen Planned Parenthood video, hasn't spoken to Obama about it. Rough Cut (no reporter narration)
ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) STORY: White House Press Secretary John Earnest said on Friday (July 17) that he hasn't spoken to President Obama about a controversial video that critics say shows a senior staff member of Planned Parenthood discussing the sale of aborted fetal tissue. Earnest said he hadn't seen the video, but also said, "I did read the news reports, indicating that the policies that are followed by Planned Parenthood are entirely consistent with the strictest ethical guidelines that have been established in the healthcare industry." Planned Parenthood has denied allegations that the organization sells aborted fetal tissue, but apologized Thursday for the "tone and statements" of the staffer shown speaking in the video. The video, which has gotten widespread exposure on the Internet, was produced by the California-based Center for Medical Progress, a self-described organization of citizen journalists dedicated to monitoring and reporting on medical ethics and advances.
