''I don't wear a toupee. It's my hair, I swear,'' states Donald Trump before asking a woman to come on stage to verify. Rough Cut (no reporter narration).
ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump says his hair is real and brought a woman on stage to inspect it, during a campaign speech in Greenville, South Carolina on Thursday (August 27). Trump referenced a New York Times article that quoted someone calling him "the man of the toupee" and stated in response, "I don't wear a toupee. It's my hair, I swear." "Is it mine?" Trump asked the woman as he bent forward toward her. "Yes, I believe it is," replied the woman. Trump's support remained largely unchanged over the last week at about 30 percent, well ahead of the 17-strong pack seeking to represent the Republican Party in the November 2016 presidential election.
