"Climate change is not a distant threat to our children," warned U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, during a visit to Anchorage, Alaska and urged the global community to address the challenge of climate change
Referring to the migrant crisis in Europe, he warned that global warming would create "climate refugees" as populations would be forced to move in search of food and water.
Kerry is in Alaska to host the Conference on Global Leadership in the Arctic: Cooperation, Innovation, Engagement and Resilience (GLACIER).
