Flow of refugees and migrants to Austria and Germany continues with another train leaving Hungary for western Europe. Rough Cut (no reporter narration).
ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) STORY: Migrants boarded a train at Keleti station in Hungary on Monday (September 7) to make their way to Germany via Vienna, after many were stranded for days in Budapest. A senior official in Bavaria, where migrants have been arriving by the train-load from Hungary via Austria, told reporters that 2,500 new migrants were likely to arrive in Germany by early afternoon. Migrants and Syrian refugees, many with children, smiled and made peace signs as they boarded the train. About 20,000 entered the country over the weekend after Germany and Austria flung open their borders, piling pressure on Chancellor Angela Merkel whose open-door policy has made the country a magnet for people fleeing civil war in Syria.
