Camerawoman Petra Lazlo has been fired by Hungary's N1TV television station after video showing her kicking and tripping migrants she was covering surfaced. Deborah Gembara reports.
She's been identified as camerawoman Petra Lazlo, and she's accused of deliberately tripping a refugee carrying a child along the Hungary-Serbian border. Earlier, she's seen kicking a young girl. Her employer, Hungarian television channel N1TV announced late Tuesday they had fired Lazlo, calling her actions "shocking and unacceptable". Hungary's right-wing government has taken a hard line on migrants --- portraying them as a threat to European prosperity and what it calls "Christian values". N1TV, which is considered right leaning by many in the country, includes in its lineup a weekly show hosted by the leader of the country's conservative, anti-immigration Jobbik party. Lazlo has so far made no public statement.
