This season the designers were inspired by the sultry Argentina of the 1950's. One half of the design duo, James Mischka. SOUNDBITE: JAMES MISCHKA, FASHION DESIGNER, SAYING (English) "We got inspired by an imaginary trip to Buenos Aires in 1950. Obviously we weren't there then, so we had to imagine it, which makes it more fabulous. There is no reality to weigh you down, it's all imagination so we thought about the femininity of the Paris of South America, the combination of European sensibility and the Latin sensibility." Colors were skin tone, with metallic embellishments. The feather light collection had a sexy twist with thigh-high splits and deep-cut V-necklines. Badgley Mischka's figure-flattering dresses are a red carpet staple beloved by many actresses including Helen Mirren, who was in the front row. SOUNDBITE: HELEN MIRREN, ACTRESS, SAYING (English) "When I first started having to go on red carpets, they were one of the companies that I have very very first started working with. And I just, it was a match made in heaven. Their clothes fit me perfectly" For daytime, the duo showed sexy tweeds and gold brocade. The show is part of New York Fashion Week that runs until Thursday September 17.
