PLEASE NOTE - THE MUSIC TRACK IN THIS VIDEO NEWS STORY MUST ONLY BE USED AS PART OF THIS PRODUCTION AND MUST NOT BE STRIPPED OUT AND USED IN ANY OTHER CONTEXT OR PRODUCTION, OR USED IN ANY RE-EDIT OR CUT DOWN OF THE PRODUCTION Danit Peleg is at the cutting edge of fashion design. Using 3D home printers, she manufactured her latest collection ... and in time hopes to bring the technology to consumers. (SOUNDBITE) (English) ISRAELI DESIGNER DANIT PELEG, SAYING: "Until now we only saw fashion designers experiment with industrial 3D printers and I wanted to try and print an entire fashion collection at home, using only 3D printers." She says industrial printers tend to produce garments made of hard plastic, so they aren't really wearable. After trying out different solutions, she settled on an alternative printing material called FilaFlex, which feels like rubber and has more elasticity. Each garment in her collection requires about 300 hours of printing time -- that's more than 12 whole days! But the result, is a collection that is runway ready. (SOUNDBITE) (English) ISRAELI DESIGNER DANIT PELEG, SAYING: "You can take my file of a garment, of a jacket for example, and then just print it at the closest lab to your house. You don't need to know fashion designing or sewing because you can just print it and build it, just like a puzzle." You will need some glue , and then voila, colorful and fairly comfortable clothes. At a recent event, international fashion bloggers who tried on Peleg's creations, gave the collection their approval. (SOUNDBITE) (English) OLA SLOVA, FASHION BLOGGER, SAYING: "I really really like it, it's something new like you know the technology is in all the fashion, now it's about technology so it's something new and I really love it." For now, Peleg says printing garments is still too costly. But as the technology develops it will become inexpensive enough for consumers to have at home. And that, will make downloading your favorite new shirt ... as easy as clicking a button.
