Stars Cate Blanchett and Elisabeth Moss, hit red carpet for industry screening of political thriller ''Truth''. Edward Baran reports.
Cate Blanchett and the cast of new movie "Truth" hit the red carpet for the industry screening of the film in LA on Monday. The film tells the story of longtime CBS news anchor Dan Rather and producer Mary Mapes and the highly criticized "60 Minutes" investigative story questioning George W. Bush's service in the Texas Air National Guard during the Vietnam War. The story marked the downfall of Rather, Mapes and other CBS journalists. Actress, Cate Blanchett, saying (English): "I knew about Mary's work as a producer and I knew about the story that she produced for 60 Minutes about Bush's, the question mark about his time in the National Guard in Texas, but I didn't know about the fallout, so it was all a revelation to me and even though it happened back in September 2004, I think the film is very present, it's very and very timely." Robert Redford plays opposite Blanchett as journalist Dan Rather. Actress, Cate Blanchett, saying (English): "The symbiotic relationship that Mary Mapes and Dan Rather had, the mutual respect, the admiration, the deep care and the symbiotic relationship they had and then to find that with Robert Redford it's a gift that you know, I don't know if I'll ever the chance to have anything close to that." "Truth" will have a selected release in the United States on October 16.
