ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry met with Saudi Arabia's King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz al-Saud on Saturday (October 24), amidst a push for talks to bring about a political settlement to the conflict in Syria. The talks are expected to focus on efforts to end Syria's four-year civil war and on the crisis in Yemen, where Saudi Arabia has led an Arab military intervention since March to try to restore President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi's government and fend off what it sees as creeping Iranian influence. Saudi Arabia, is the main regional opponent of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, and is expected to join the talks along with Russia and Turkey.
