Canadian pop singer Justin Bieber made a triumphant return to the European stage at the MTV Europe Music Awards in Milan on Sunday, scooping five prizes at the major music event. Edward Baran reports.
The 2015 MTV Europe Music Awards belonged to just one man. (Name being announced) The Canadian pop singer scooped five prizes at the event, including Best Male, Best Look and Worldwide Act: North America (SOUNDBITE) Justin Beiber saying (English): 'It's been a long couple of years..I just feel like this is preetty awesome to be recognised for must music.' Many of the other big winners such as Rihanna who scooped best song and Taylor Swift who won Best Song weren't at the event But there were stunning performances from the like of Ellie Goulding and Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli. Hip hop duo Macklemore and Ryan Lewis won Best Video for Downtown, while host Ed Sheeran took Best Live Act and Best World Stage. The sounds of the 1980s were remembered when Duran Duran received the first MTV Video Visionary award And the show was wrapped by Pharrell Williams who got the crowd on their feet performing his track Freedom
