Dr. Ben Carson is defending his view that the pyramids of Egypt were built to store grain.
He made the remarks while promoting his book "A More Perfect Union" in Florida.
He was asked by reporters on the sidelines of the book tour if he still stood by that opinion, which he made in remarks several years ago.
"It's still my belief yes," he said.
"Well the pyramids were made in a way that they had hermetically sealed compartments. You wouldn't need hermetically sealed compartments. You would need that if you were trying to preserve grain for a long period of time."
